With regular live music and events showcasing some of Australia’s best acts and entertainers, we have something for everyone. You will find every genre on Smokey Dan’s stage from rock, metal and punk to blues, country and folk, and other entertainment like comedians too. Kingswood, Tim Freedman (The Whitlams), Alex Lloyd, Amber Lawrence, Catherine Britt, Daniel Champagne and many more have performed at Smokey Dan’s.

WAAX are a fierce, emotionally charged rock act from Brisbane, led by powerhouse vocalist Maz DeVita, whose raw, cathartic performances have become the band’s signature. Blending punk energy with soaring alt‑rock hooks, they’ve carved out a loyal following since forming in 2012, releasing acclaimed records including Big Grief and At Least I’m Free and earning spots in Triple J’s Hottest 100. Known for turning heartbreak, chaos and vulnerability into explosive, high‑voltage anthems, WAAX continue to evolve while keeping their unmistakable intensity at the centre of everything they do.

Kyle Lionhart returns with his most honest chapter yet.
Following a career built from busking the streets and beaches of Byron Bay to sold-out headline tours across Australia and Europe, Kyle Lionhart returns with his brand-new single ‘I’m Doing Fine’ (out September 17th) and a national headline tour to match.
With more than 150 million streams worldwide, over 15,000 independent physical sales, sold-out tours, and performances alongside Xavier Rudd, Niall Horan and Foy Vance, as well as appearances at Splendour In The Grass and Bluesfest, Lionhart has carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling live singer-songwriters.
Drawing from folk, soul, americana and indie rock, Kyle’s music has long been compared to artists such as Ben Harper, Matt Corby and Jeff Buckley, combining earthy acoustic songwriting with soaring vocals, groove and an unmistakably Australian sense of place.
But it’s on stage where Kyle really comes alive.
His shows are intimate one moment and completely explosive the next, weaving storytelling, humour, raw emotion and huge singalongs into a performance that feels less like watching a concert and more like being part of something.
